Hey all. If I have a level 10 character that is 6 Fighter (Samurai) and 4 Rogue (Swashbuckler) and I'm dual wielding, what's a better use of my bonus action?
Do I use "Fighting Spirit" or do I use a weapon attack with Two-Weapon Fighting?
Fighting spirit hands down. Advantage on two regular attacks means less likely to miss and more likely to crit and double those sneak attack dice. and then action surge and get advantage in two more attacks. Of course, you can only sneak attack once on those 4 attacks, but you should always action surge when you fighting spirit. Even more next level when you take fighter 11 and get your third attack.
Thanks, good to know. Not really planning on going more levels into Fighter since the character is meant to be a Rogue primarily and I have way too many Fighter characters (usually BM) lol. I just couldn't say no to extra attack, second wind, action surge, and an extra ASI. Pure Swash Rogue feels too weak tbh.
I'm going to say that unless you really need advantage, you're better off using your bonus action for your off-hand weapon. You only have 3 uses of fighting spirit per long rest. In this manner, you would be smart to limit yourself to only using fighting spirit whenever action surge is available for a good nova round. Otherwise, use your off-hand instead.
Yeah combining Fighting Spirit with Action Surge seems like a no-brainer. I really hate the "3 times per day" part of that feature, so making sure to not waste a use is gonna be pretty important for me. I don't really plan to hit level 10 in Fighter anytime soon in the campaign so no Tireless Spirit for me.
