Dedicated weapon should allow you to use dex for monk weapons but system doesn’t seem to change any weapons modifiers plz fix
Go to your character sheet. Go to inventory and select your dedicated weapon. From the fly out item menu there is a “dedicated weapon” box and check it. That should give you Dex for attack and damage
I added a Luck Blade Longsword to my Monk and the box to make it a dedicated weapon is not there? The same when I double checked with Dragon Slayer Longsword. Odd that it is there for a quarterstaff and dagger.
Double check that you are proficient with longswords. I tried it with my monks and the "dedicated weapon" check disappeared without proficiency (Monk only has simple, not martial).
Reread it and found out as a single class monk this feature is not really as useful as it first appears. I can make any monk weapon I am proficient with into a monk weapon. The proficinecy really crushes this ability to not very good. Maybe useful for multi-class monks or those with weapon master feat.

If you get weapon proficiencies from your race as a single class monk it works just fine. And helps a lot with multiclass monks. And it’s an additional feature so you lose nothing if you only have your default monk proficiencies. So I think it’s actually a good ability.
The one thing I've found it useful for is the short bow. Monks are proficient with short bows, but, they aren't monk weapons. Having a short bow that does 1d8 or 1d10 at higher levels is helpful when you battle dragons and other flying creatures.

Hey so I just figured this out. At least for me... There are long swords and longswords in the weapon selection for the inventory pages. 😆
I had to pick longswords and now it shows up perfect using Martial arts and mastery using Dex for damage and to hit bonus.
Hope that helps!
I can't for the life of me find the dedicated weapon box. Is it still there?
Are you using the 2014 or 2024 version of the Monk class?
Dedicated Weapon was an optional feature for the 2014 Monk class. It's not available for the 2024 version.
