Are we sure that the monk will be introduced in the new One DnD?
From what I understand in the list of intial classes in the game, it has remained the only class that has not yet fixed and been introduced.
I am afraid, that instead of solving the problem, they want to avoid it by simply not creating a monk class and making everyone able to access the unarmed martial arts through feats or subclasses.
Regarding warrior classes, One DnD seems to be built around the fighter and weapon mastery. What does the monk have to do with weapon mastery?
Jeremy Crawford specifically said monk is coming soon to the UA. Hopefully the next one coming, along with reworks of previous UA classes and subclasses
And was specifically mentioned as one of the three classes of the warrior group.
It would be odd if they left monk out and only had two Warrior classes while the other three groups have three each. And probably the reason Artificer isn’t going to be in The 2024 PHB (wish it would be) because it would throw off the symmetry of three classes per the four groups (Expert, Priest, Mage, Warrior). Artificer will be an expert from what has been mentioned but in a later book presumably.
Edit: And according to WotC, this is not a new edition but a revision or update to 5E so monks are already part of this edition. It would be difficult to remove them from the game when you can still use your 2014 PHB. I think if they did there would be a lot of anger in the community and I think WotC has had enough community anger with the OGL debacle to satisfy them for a while. Hopefully.

As far as weapon mastery Monks have monk weapons that have weapon masteries. And they will also get fighting styles (since they are in the warrior group) as far as we know. And who knows, they might be able to get weapon masteries tied to unarmed strikes.
Ya its odd they are leaving it for last when arguably it needs the most help.
Maybe because they are making only slight changes, like rogue. Or they are making big changes, like they did with Warlock in the last UA and didn’t want two big changes in one UA
In the final comments section of the last UA survey (playtest packet 5) my very first sentence was “Pease don’t screw up the monk” then proceeded to put my final comments on that UA. Hopefully that message made it to someone’s ears. We shall see when the monk UA comes out. Hopefully in a week or two.

I agree. The UA monk didn't have anything I really expected, except the increased MA die and Stunning Strike going to once per turn. I assumed they would get fighting styles, since they are part of the Warrior group, but nope!

It’s one of the core classes, I’m sure they will release it

thanks kreen I appreciate ya.
It finally came out, but I honestly expected much more, definitely one of the most disappointing classes created in One dnd.
