When I was creating my character, I checked several possible multiclass builds for the monk, creating quite a lot of test characters in the process. As a result, I created a whole ninja clan, so I thought I'd share my concept with you, and you might want to use it somewhere in your sessions. The general inspiration came from the fact that I like ninjia and I like the witcher, so I thought it would be pretty cool to create a ninjia clan that fights monsters :)
Members of the clan are not related by blood. Orphans and abandoned children are accepted into the clan.
So the clan is divided into houses:
House of Animals - The members of this house are Shadow Monk's multiclass ranger and all members of this house are named after various animals, mostly carnivores (owl, hawk wolf, etc.)
House of Ghosts - members of this clan are multi shadow monk with warlock or mage or sorc and are named after spirits and demons (balog, dretch, hezrou etc)
House of Trees - members are a shadowmonk multiclass with a druid and are named after trees (oak, pine, ash, etc.)
House of Flesh - members of this house are SM multiclass with a fighter or a rogue and are named after the names of weapons (sword, knife, scythe, bow)
Each house has its main leader and one of them is chosen as a head of the entire family and have a title "Father". House leaders are called "Mother" regardless of the clan member's gender, so for example in a clan we have one father, eg "Father Balog from the spirit house". And 4 mothers - "Mother Morgenstern from the house of flesh"; "Mother Pine from the House of Trees"; "Mother Lilith from the House of ghosts" and "Mother Fox from the House of animals".
In addition, in each house there are several members bearing the title of "Uncle", these are older and experienced ninjas who often mentor other clan members and would certainly be great in the role of Mother, but for various reasons they do not hold this title.
Maybe looking for inspiration for a backstory for your character someone will use this concept or looking for inspiration for some session some GM will make the clan of his big bad opponents for the team of heroes :) Whatever you do with it, share stories, I'm curious :D
You are very creative. House of ghosts sounds cool. Do demons fit into that theme? I think house of demons could be its own separate house and keep the house of ghosts strickly an undead theme.
I was thinking more of a concept where members of a Ghosts house make a sort of pact with a magical entity (such as a gin) in a magical ritual to gain access to spells and magic. But you can easy to add there a multiclass with a sorcerer or a mage there as well.
In general, I wanted each house to have its own gimmic. The house of the flesh is a ninja strongly focused on the development of physical abilities and fighting with a variety of tools. House of animals was created for ninjia trackers who follow and attack by surprise with a large number of blows. The House of the ghosts was supposed to be such a mystically magical ninjia who assume that "fire should be fought with fire" and the house of trees is rather a house strongly focused on balance ... hmm ideologically very similar to the Druids' Circle of Spores.
But if you see the potential for something more, go for it! I'd love to hear other ideas :)
In general, the concept arose, as I wrote earlier, along with the creation of the character for me. As a result, I even based my character's backstory on this concept. Where my ninjia was a member of the House of animals, but after the death of the previous Father, the title was taken over by a member of the House of Ghosts, who started using the clan as a tool to gain influence and slowly the clan moved away from the purpose for which it was created and slowly became a group of paid assassins, so my hero decided leave the clan and go his own way and maybe one day in the future return the clan to its original purpose.

Thank you, that's super nice!
