Hi, maybe this is a dumb question, but i can't figure out how to get monk subclasses past way of the open fist. I saw somewhere that you can buy them in the market place but I can't find the option to do so anywhere. I was wondering if anyone know, thank you.
You can buy specific sub classes by going to the Marketplace - Store and then choosing the source of the sub-class you are looking for. Choose the source book, then scroll down to Additional Purchase Options. For example, Way of Mercy is from Tasha's.

I too had a similar problem when choosing my race (Aasimar). I think I had to do a search by the class name or something. I too found it frustrating.
It’s a shame they got rid of individual purchases and now you need the whole book. I didn’t really use it but I know some did.
I heard someone say they thought maybe this was WotC’s plan all along when they bought DDB, but didn’t implement it until now, with the marketplace redesign. But that’s speculation.
What happens with the price if we bought specific subclasses and individual items when that was doable? Because that used to lower the price and now it doesn't. Is there a way to make sure I'm not paying extra for stuff I already have?
You would probably have to talk to customer service/support to see if you will get a discount on the pre-2024 book the subclass came from. I would hope they would honor the arrangement for prior purchases
This is a huuuuuuuge nerf to me continuing to buy stuff on Dnd beyond. I’ve been happy enough with DnD beyond thus far not to bother looking into other options. But I will look now. (I don’t know if anything exists with similar functionality and a better purchasing situation, but it’s time to find out)
this is bullshit i shouldnt have to buy 2014 rulebook to play a way of the shadow monk
You don't. You can purchase either the 2014 or 2024 Player's Handbook to get that subclass; there are some changes in the 2024 version though it's mostly the same.
While it is frustrating that they no longer allow individual purchases, it is not really reasonable to expect them to give you content for free.

Is this option still available? As much as I try it seems I can only purchase the whole source book
They just did a revamp of the marketplace, and no longer allow buying stuff piecemeal
Did they announce this somewhere? When did they do this? I don't recall seeing anything about that.

They didn't announce it as such; just dropped an all-new marketplace a few days ago.
Just go over to general discussion. There are a couple of threads from people who are mildly put out by the change.
Mildly? I think it's absolute shiitake.
Drow Shadowblades are so good! Give them a Google!

They've said to contact customer support about those discounts. Support is not fast, so be aware.
