Enhanced Unarmed Strike. When you hit with your Unarmed Strike and deal damage, you can deal Bludgeoning damage equal to 1d4 plus your Strength modifier instead of the normal damage of an Unarmed Strike.
So why/when would you even use this ability? It is always going to be lower than your unarmed strike (at least for monk) or do we just take it for reroll and push? When I first read it I thought it was like a hunters mark type thing and was a d4 on top of your regular damage.
It's not for monks. It's for anyone else who wants to be able to punch for effect.
I disagree. It can be good for monks. Rerolling 1’s on any of your unarmed strikes is good. And a free push, instead of sacrificing damage to do it, is good as well.
Only If I'm playing a str based character without unarmed fighting style and I want to be able to punch thing, or be effective without weapon for lore/campaign reason, without dipping into monk.
Thematically, I prefer the dip. Also on monk I would heavily prefer though and magic initiate or less heavily alert or skilled than brawler. It is not awfull, like thrikreen said, but I would not say it's that good to be appealing.

So not bad for an Origin feat for monks.
Sure, it can be used, but you aren't getting its full effect, and might well prefer to have Tough or something
I just rebuilt my elements monk, who is a sailor, and it seems pretty meh, but that's also because the free push is also pretty redundant.

True it isn’t the absolute best origin feat for monks but it’s not the worst. Tough is a good one, as is Alert.

Tough, Alert, and Musician downright best origin feats. That’s not saying that others suck, these 3 are the cream of the crop based on my opinion.

Be a halfling save the feat. Same effect without any negatives

"Damage Rerolls. Whenever you roll a damage die for your Unarmed Strike, you can reroll the die if it rolls a 1, and you must use the new roll."
That is different from Halfling Luck, which does not work on damage rolls, just D20 rolls.
"Luck. When you roll a 1 on the d20 of a D20 Test, you can reroll the die, and you must use the new roll."

Musician? Why that would be useful compared to those feats?

Giving Heroic Inspiration to Proficiency Bonus number of allies is pretty strong. Rerolling any die roll so saving throws, attacks, ability checks, initiative, damage rolls, spell damage (one die) etc.
It doesn’t help you but for the party it is strong.

You don’t win DnD by yourself. It’s a party, so every party member provides support in some fashion. Musician feat in my opinion is the ultimate support any non caster could fulfill that part. In general though it’s an amazing feat for any player character. Unless you’re a 10th/11th champion with heroic inspiration non stop or a generous dm, not getting it. so as an origin feat it’s top 3 (regardless of class).
me personally who notoriously roll bad when it’s really needed would beg for a chance to reroll. I’m sure everyone has had those moments.

. The 1d4 is for all other class, because their unarmed attacks are only 1pt of damage. The Monk still uses his damage dice of d6 and above.
