Corellon would be a good choice if you were an elf or half-elf, but I dont thin that works as well for a half-orc. Really any good human deity would work to be honest, particularly Torm.
I don't see why your race should dissuade you from choosing Corellon or any god. It's strange and unconventional, but you're an adventurer: unconventional is your bread and butter. What does your character value? What does he strive to be? If you need more ideas, try asking your DM for suggestions. I know when my paladin asked for my opinion on deities, I pointed him in the direction of groups that I knew would appear in the campaign. A paladin of Bahamut will have more RP potential fighting cultists of Tiamat, for example.
Your DM is a good resource to start and the other suggestions so far are good. Lorewise, if your character wants to ward off Gruumsh, there are a couple of his foes you could adopt if your DM's game takes place in the Forgotten Realms. One of the first gods that came to mind when I saw this thread was Horus-Re. He's a lawful good god. After Gruumsh defeated Re during the Orcgate Wars, his power passed onto Horus, who became Horus-Re.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
You could also eschew gods entirely - paladins don't require gods anymore. Heck, go for broke and try to become a god yourself! That's how the duegar (evil dwarves) got their gods - launched a rebellion and got enough worship.

In their recent Paladin RP video, WebDM had the idea of an atheist Redemption paladin who sees gods (esp. Gruumsh, Lolth, etc.) as sources of conflict and evil -- A half-orc trying to ward of the influence of Gruumsh seems like a good fit if you want to take this route.

Umberlee with sailor background! Perhaps the goddess spared him one fateful day and promised justice to those who wronged him... but umberlee would not stop there and our hero is conflicted with loyalty, morality, and indeed his very soul.... or you could worship a lousy elf God w/e.

So I'm building a paladin that became one to help ward off the influence of Gruumsh, so I've been thinking hard on what god to choose, any ideas?

This is exactly what I wa looking for, thanks!
