Part of making a subclass shine is how to creatively use their subclass features.
Enter the "Thief" rogue...with their parkour and their knack for using any object they require in a given moment, their success is therefore based upon what item they use in a given moment.
It's common knowledge that their ability to use healing potions on the same round as Sneak Attack makes them amazing combat medics...but there's a lot of items in D&D, and I'm curious if anyone else has stumbled across situations where "Fast Hands" has let the Thief Rogue pull off some tricky stuff.
You can't use the healing potion with Fast Hands since it's considered as a magic item. If you want some abused healing power, go for the Healer feat and use a charge of your kit for 1d6+4+level. You can use your action to give a healing potion and your bonus action to use the healer's kit then ask your DM for a free action to taunt the party cleric!
Otherwise, you could:
Set a bear trap then use your action to shove your opponent into it
Use some manacles to fix the opponent to your barbarian friend
Throw a bottle of oil and use your action to set it on fire with your tinderbox (could be useful, but doesn't deal a lot of damages)
Drop two bags of caltrops of balls to cover a bigger area
Push the table to create a full cover in the tavern
Pour some poison on your Figter's arrows
But the most important: put everything in fire thanks to your tinder box to create a distraction.

Fast hands has become one of my favorite abilities to use so far. In addition to the things listed above you can...
Throw an alchemist fire or vial of acid for some extra damage. One of my favorite combos is when my thief douses an enemy in oil and my buddy uses tiny servant on an alchemist fire and has it explode on the enemy. It's an extra 1D4 + 5 fire damage per turn which can add up pretty quickly.
If you're in melee with an enemy then fast hands sleight of hand to steal the arrows or bolts from their quiver. This is really fun when used on drow because now you've got poison bolts for free!
Using it to throw a grappling hook and shimmy up to the high ground can also be hugely beneficial. One fight I survived by coing that and getting to the roof of a building, shooting, going prone, standing up then shooting again and going prone.
Fast hand to use Sleight of hand is also super cool to steal the arcane focus of your opponent. You can take the Dash action to go in contact with the evil wizard, steal his arcane focus (what he is using to cast spells) then run away. He will have an attack of opportunity, which is would be an unarmed strick for 1 damage if he ever succeeds his non-proficient strength attack role!

Why would the wizard not be holding onto his arcane focus? You can't use sleight of hand to take his focus if he's holding it.
I am playing a fast hands rogue and playing party healer with the Healer feat. I also like the vial use for extra damage. Traps and caltrops are great if your trying to escape. drop them in a door way as you pass through. BA Pickpocketing is also fun. I've even done a lot of reverse pickpocketing for planting evidence on people (or gifts for friends).

Ah, that was the feat for that particular role.
That bit with the bear trap is amusing.

Yeah but you could disarm them as an action dash as a bonus action and pick up the item as a free action
