One thing I am really enjoying with my assassin that I actually have to credit my GM for: I am a double agent! After some of our exploits I got recruited to be a spy. Then I offered to be an agent for another faction so I am now a double agent, playing both sides. It makes for some interesting situations: At one point I was tasked with assassinating one of my own party! I had to do some fast talking to get out of that one. The intrigue factor with this character is great.

I know, right?
My rogue is a charlatan (bg) that is passing as a humble nobody where in fact he is kinda wanted for high treason. This "double agent" thing is really fun to pull out. It adds a new depth to the role play.

We are just about to start a new 5th edition campaign and my first class is going to be a Rogue. I plan on going down the Arcane Trickster path once we get to level 3. Anyone have experience with this subclass yet?
yes i have and i love it i wouldn't have picked any other one but unfortunately sometimes if you fumble on a stealth check you die.. so...i died lol but it was a lot of fun i highly recommend it!!
In my first session with my Kenku rouge (Slicer), I had him climb a tree during an encounter with a couple of Were-wolves. Using his mimicry Slicer was able to lead one of the Were-wolves to the tree and armed with only a silver fork, threw the fork into the were-wolf and after a couple of slices from an ally, jumped out of the tree directly onto the fork to jam it trough the were-wolf and killing him. my party members then proceeded to immediately skin it before it reverted back to human form.

I love my swashbuckling rogue folk hero! Rogues are so versatile and fun to play.
