Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the correct sub thread to put this in, so sorry if I'm stepping in the wwrong yard. This is more a question on how to use DnD Beyond for my sorcerer character than anything else. If there's somewhere better to put this, just let me know and I'll jump right on over.

Situation:

• Starting a new campaign at lvl 4. I'm playing an aberrant mind sorcerer.
• The Psionic Spells class feature gives me free spells at certain levels.
• I can see these spells appear as expected in my list of spells to use.
• I can trade out one these spells on leveling up with any other spell of the same levels from either the diviniation or enchantment school, and from either the wizard, worlock or sorcerer spell list.

Problem:

• I can not mechanically figure out how to swap these spells out in DnD Beyond. I can see the spells in my character sheet when I go to the spells section, but when I go to Manage the spells, they're not there.
• Also, when I go to the Manage menu for my spells, I can only ever search for spells from the sorcerer's lsit.

Does anyone have any idea how I can swap out/manage the spells in the Psionic Spells class feature? Any help would be great.

Thanks for the work around but this shouldn't be necessary! It is now 2024 and this should have been added by now.I am not very computer literate so I don't actually think I'm going to be able to do this work around. Please have this implemented properly.

I agree it shouldn't be necessary. Your post is in direct response to me and you didn't separate the request to implement from the response, so to be clear I cannot implement this because I don't work here. I'm just a regular member like you. Just wanna make sure there's no confusion there. 🤣

No, no confusion. I was just voicing my overall disappointment at Wotc and their development team. I'm not sure why you thought I was directing my response at you, but thanks for the clarification lol 😆 

What I do, and it is hardly ideal, is customize the automatically granted spell and rename it with name of the spell I am swapping to.  You do this by clicking on the spell on your character sheet, and then the pencil icon, and then change the name.

It is still really bad, since the description, components, casting time, concentration, up-casting etc, will all be wrong, but at least you see the correct name.  And importing it to VTTs won't work either.

This problem is the same for Clockwork Soul Sorcerer's. I've had to customize the text in the description box for my game for a couple years now, wish this class mechanic of replacing 'class domain spells' mechanic would work by now.

Barbarians still have no rage button either.

Which does everyone think is better: default Aberrant Mind or Divine Soul? I still can’t decide which to use for my Sorlock.

Depends on how you play your sorlock.  I'd say Aberrant Mind either way.

Tis now a moot point with the 2024 rules. 

Some people will still prefer 2014 version. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I seriously doubt that they will add that sort of support for obsolete content.  if they didn't do it when it was current, it certainly isn't going to happen now that it's not.
