With the Pact of the Chain you can use one of your attacks to grant your familiar one attack with its reaction. The invocation Investment of the Chain Master allows you to use your bonus action to command the familiar to take the Attack action.
It seems to me that you can use your attack action to let your familiar attack (using its reaction), then use your bonus action to give it another attack. Sting sting, baby!
I agree with and play the way you suggest. That said, your DM may say that it is heavily implied that it is one or the other, so to that I say: why would the upgraded ability cost me more to trigger?
Another consideration: if the familiar only attacks once a round, with its reaction, it still has its regular action to become invisible. That’s some serious survivability right there.

The upgrade doesn't cost you more. Bonus action is less valuable than regular action. Pretty sure the familiar can still only make one attack.
The subclass allows you to switch out an attack action for a familiar to use its reaction. The invocation allows you to swap your bonus action (making it cheaper for the warlock) to give the familiar an attack as its main action (more expensive for the familiar).
If you multiclass as a fighter that has two attacks, only one of your attacks has to be used to have the familiar attack as its reaction... then you still have another attack... then use your bonus action tell the familiar to attack for its regular action.
Or just attack twice, then bonus action tell the familiar to attack.
Either way, three attacks. (1you/2fam or 2you/1fam)
The familiar is always using its reaction to attack and as it only has one reaction there can be only one attack from it whether its from pact of the chain, investment of the chain master or the basic familiar deliver touch spell the warlock casts.
I don't see it breaking the game though if he DM allows it to use its action to attack and its reaction for a 2nd attack. So its a perfectly fine house rule. At really low levels it will be powerful, but low levels go by quick.

That is not correct.
Pact of the Chain allows the Warlock to forego its attack to allow the Familiar to attack with its Reaction on the Warlocks turn. That is similar to an opportunity attack. - The catch is, that the Familiar needs to be in Melee range of the target, as it cannot move to it on the Warlocks turn.
The Invocation "Investment of the Chain Master" allows the Warlock to use its Bonus action to order the Familiar to make an Attack action on the Familiars turn.

I disagree with that. All it says is you can use a bonus action for the familiar to make an attack action. Normally you can use an attack to get it to attack as a reaction. I think all it is doing is transforming that from an as part of your attack action to bonus action, it is not changing how it is done which is by the familiar expending a reaction.
Find Familiar reads: Your Familiar acts Independently of you, but Always obeys your commands. In combat, it rolls its own Initiative and acts on its own turn. A familiar can't attack, but can Take other actions as normal.
This sets the basic rule, that the familiar cannot take the attack action on its turn.
Pact of the Chain reads: Additionaly, when you (the Warlock) take the attack action, you can forgo one of your attacks to allow your familiar to make one Attack of its own with its reaction.
That is, when the Warlock forgos its Attack, the familiar gets a reaction Attack (similar to an opportunity attack) on the Warlocks turn and rule from Find Familiar still is in effect
The combat chapter explains the difference between the Attack Action in your turn and a Reaction Attack.
Investment of the Chain master is an invocation that gives the Familiar additional Powers. It reads: As a Bonus Action, (the Warlock) can command the familiar to Take the Attack Action.
This modifies the rule set in the Find Familiar spell, that the Familiar cannot take the Attack Action in its turn. RAW, it has no impact on the Reaction Attack the Familiar gets from Pact of the Chain.
Is this a good option to so? Maybe in some niche cases.
To get two Familiar Attacks the Warlock has to use his Action and Bonus Action in that turn, leaving him with only his Reaction. At the same time, the familiar has used its Reaction and Action for that turn, and up till now, there is no feature that gives Familiars a Bonus Action.
In most cases the Warlock has better options for his Action than letting the Familiar Attack with its Reaction. If the Warlock somehow gets the Extra Attack Feature this option gets better but probably still is not the best idea.
And for the Familiar becoming Invisible or talking the Help Action might be the better option.
