The type of warlock I'm going for is the 'balance' between 'light' and 'dark'. For that, I first thought of belonging to two patrons (Celestial and Fiend (probably)). But then I thought of creating my own patron. How would I go about doing this - in terms of spells/abilities I get from them?
Ok what if your patron is like two warring patrons Celestial AND Fiend and you just choose one class feature between the two each time you level up.
Ex: for expanded spell list half your spells are Celestial other half are Fiend/ you choose Fiend spells level 1, Celestial lv 2 etc. For features you can take do something like Dark One's blessings but lv 6 you take Radiant soul, idk up to you in the end
I think it should depend on what spells and abilities you want to use. Then maybe make the spells thematically representative of your characters path. Burning radiance or cleansing flames
Take a Celestial patron that is rebelling against their domain. Kinda like a fallen celestial…. Or take a Fiend patron that is trying to redeem itself.
i don’t think a patrons persona should be set in stone. There’s a bit of vagueness for you to play with. The stereotypes get boring real fast.
