Joining a game that lets me pick one. I don't know much about this stuff, can someone point me to something that might be useful?

Edit: The answer is Hat of Vermin. Pull out a rat, cast hex a 3rd level + hex on it, kill it, take a short rest. You now have all your spell slots and a hex active for 7 more hours. For Fiend pact you also get your temp HP from dark one's blessing. I figured this out after my DM had an NPC trick my warlock into buying this hat that he thought would be a useless but fun item and a way to burn up some gold.
Without more information, I'd say Ruby of the War Mage.

Any time an unfathomably powerful entity sweeps in and offers godlike rewards in return for just a few teensy favors, it’s a scam. Unless it’s me. I’d never lie to you, reader dearest.
The Dark Shard Amulet acts as a Warlock’s Arcane Focus and once per day it lets a warlock cast any warlock cantrip that he doesn’t know with a successful Arcana check. That’s probably the most useful for you because it opens up a lot of options.
Ritual spells for their tome could be good. I'm not familiar with Princes of the Apocalypse, but it could be a good opportunity to give the party a spell that may aid them for what's to come
Though, I'd consider what player most enjoys doing in session. If they really like RP and social situations, a cloak of many fashions or glamored armor (technically rare, but you could take away the AC bonus) would let them magically change their clothing to suit the occasion. Other consumable items like a perfume of bewitching could be nice, but for a warlock with limited spell slots an item with longer usability would probably be more appreciated.
If its Common magic items we're talking about, there's a lot, but their usage is either highly situational or mundane or straight useless( only for flavor and RP).
The few in your case that can be usefull like others said is the Dark Shard Amulet.
Another object that can be usefull is the Orb of Shielding, it gives you Resistance to an magic type of damage and can be used as a spellcasting focus.
Or looking at your Pact, a spell scroll, since you have the BoAS, you can scribe spells of any class in it and use it as Rituals, so it can be mighty usefull.

Along with chaosrex's depiction, we also need to figure out your role within the party. You an arcane Archer, scholar, Eldritch warrior?
May the gentle moonlinght guide you to greater wisdom
I’d say either a Dark Shard Amulet or a Ruby of the War Mage. Both are pretty nice for a warlock.

An Orb of Shielding doesn't give you resistance: it only lets you take 1d4 less damage of the damage type as a reaction.
I'm going to say something different.
Bag of Holding, Warlocks don't usually have high strength and it sucks to be encumbered.
Bag of holding is uncommon, and therefore doesn't qualify.

I like cloaks of billowing, but that's purely from an rp side of things
May all of your spells roll the best things for the situation on the wild magic table and all your checks to seduce dragons roll nat 20's

I like that one too, but I have prestidigitation so I can probably just do the "puffs of wind" on a normal cloak.
