In the past, it was very easy to create a monster from scratch, select the base monster, and then adjust the stats with some basic syntax. Now with the newly greatly expanded syntax its more akin to GOTO statements with Kobold than HTML. I don't want to have to deal with the newer esoteric syntax, can you please go back to the easier way of writing monster combat actions?
This new syntax is to make the monsters rollable in the encounter builder and combat tracker so it's incredibly unlikely to be removed as it's now part of all monsters.
You don't need to set up the syntax for your homebrew monsters if you don't intend to use them in the combat tracker.
