Seems somewhat unnecessary for magic items. You might be able to make an argument for ammunition. But adding special properties to magic weapons is the very purpose of the description box.
When we can make base weapons, we will be able to add these properties.
Im using the magic weapon system to make mundane equipment, and im trying to make this item.

Harpoon. A target hit by your harpoon is tethered to you by a rope, if one is attached. As an action on subsequent turns, you can force a large or smaller target into a Strength contest, and pull the target up to 20 feet towards yourself if you win. The target can use an action to dislodge the harpoon from itself.
I know, but I'm trying to use the tools that are available to me to make a stand in. My players have access to the items, so I would like to try and give them something for their character sheets.
I for one have been eagerly awaiting this feature. I do a ton of homebrew in my campaign and it's such a thorn in my side being unable to do something like adding ammunition property to a firearm.

We haven't implemented homebrew of mundane equipment/armor/weapons yet.
This is something that is planned.
