I just wanted to make one point: Beyond won't be the first tool/app for managing DnD characters and rules. Previous tries, while also unofficial, ultimately failed due to lack of flexibility, and that's something DnD absolutely needs. What I mean by that, is that players often like to think and play outside the established sand box. For example, perhaps they want to play a monk that's blind, so I give them blind sight 30ft, tremor sense 60ft, and advantage on sound/smell related checks. And maybe they decide to play an Aarakocra as their race. With a little DM magic, all these types of things are possible. So while apps are alluring for their convenience, if it isn't as flexible as the books its existence is irrelevant. Picking 'dwarf' and having a digital character sheet auto-populate with dwarf info is really cool, but also having a 'custom' option to put in whatever race you want is essential; same goes for any stat, entry, spell, class, etc.
I feel this is base functionality that needs to be there 'out of the box', adding more races/classes/monsters is the frosting on the cake that makes this tool box more convenient, if you know what I mean. If this is already intended functionality, then great! Ignore me :)
