The overall compendium looks fantastic, folks. Very good job there. Very clear and easy to use. It's probably polished enough already to go live, but here are my thoughts on possible improvements in the meantime:
Spells section:
- some spells from the basic Players Handbook appear to be missing. Not sure if this is intentional or not, as I would assume the PHB is considered the basis for the SRD. Now, I haven't done a complete and thorough search, but using Ranger as an example: level 1 - Ensnaring Strike and Hail of Thorns are not listed. At 2nd level it would be Beast Sense and Cordon of Arrows. Unsure about other spell levels here, and didn't look at other classes - this was a quick search, but I wasn't able to find these anywhere in the spells section using various searches.
- good job on the spell icons. Made for a very quick easy way to visually identify which spell school I was looking at, without having to do an actual search for it (for those classes with access to multiple schools).
Items section:
- the "Rarity" filter on some of the areas (i.e. Armor, Weapons), is actually a pull-down selector, but doesn't easily present itself as such. Was initially a little confusing. Same with the "tags" filter. Needs a bit of polishing there. (for reference, I'm using Google Chrome as my browser - not sure if this is a browser issue).
- changing items seems to keep the previous selected. For example, if I click on "weapons", but then want to search by "staff" next, it keeps the weapons button still highlighted and includes the previous search in your new search. Not sure how needed this is, as I would prefer to just do individual searches and not worry about searching for multiple things at once.
- I'd like to be able to filter a little more specifically within a few fields. For example, under weapons after you put in your filters, you can then sort by name, type, or attunement. I'd like those to be part of my search filter initially so that I don't have to scroll down or switch pages just to see all the magical +2 longswords I wanted. Thinking more as a DM than a player here, as players would just search for their individual items here to pull up the relevant stats. Wondrous items especially, being such a diverse category, would be great to narrow down a bit for searches.
Monsters section:
- whoa, that's a lot of stuff to digest. First thoughts: being able to sort by monster type, and then filter by challenge rating, is stellar. Good job folks! I also like the fact the way the information on each monster is presented - very clear and concise; and being able to go to the monster's homepage for a full-page writeup on them, complete with picture, is fantastic. I also like how all information was offered (for example, hit dice was shown next to hit points, for those campaigns where you'd rather roll it yourself, or go for the homebrewed stuff such as "full hp monster" campaign).
I'm sure there'll be even more to comment on, as I digest all of this is a bit better, so I may edit this as I continue through.
