Hi there, I DM for a regular campaign and we have begun using DND Beyond in our games. I ran into 2 problems today that I hope I can either suggest to fix or are already being worked on.
1st. Feats, I have a couple of homebrew feats that I want my players to have however there seems to be no way as of yet for me to gift said feats to the players. Am I missing something? Or is this something that we could later add?
2nd. I am purchasing all the books for my players and I have the master tier subscription. Unfortunately when I share with them it only works inside the campaign and not account wide, sucks but whatever. The problem that I have is that they seem to not be able to access homebrew races that I add to my collection, any ideas?
1) Currently, there isn't a way to grant a feat outside the official class progression. The staff is working to make this possible. The workaround is to create a homebrew item which emulates the benefits of that feat.
2) Homebrew races should appear in the character editor of your players. First be sure that on the first page of the editor, they are allowing homebrew content. If that is the case, it can be only a cache problem. Refreshing the page of the race selection should fix the problem.
This answered both of my questions thank you so much. I will try the work around using the item system for now. Also with your information I tried making a new character for my player again but this time I disabled and reenabled the homebrew content which seems to have added the races which were missing. You have been a great help and I can’t wait to start playing around with the feats once the feat system is given the once over.
One thing I did to get around the problem with sharing content is to create a new campaign and have everyone use that campaign for character creation and what not. That way you dont clutter up your real campaign with test or back up characters.
Also, FYI, it appears that any content you create is shared in your campaign whether you make it public or not. I'm sure a lot of people already know this but I just learned it during our last session after I created a ring for myself and everyone else in the party that bought the same ring just equipped the one I made.
