While it is nice that we do not need to make an item public in order to share it with our players in a campaign, there are items that are made that we do not want to share with our party, or stat blocks that need to secret. it sucks that players wont follow a rule to not look at the dms homebrew items, but its just how it is. as a DM, i cannot make an item or a stat block without it potentially being spoiled, even by people who are different campaigns! (thanks discord)
What about a setting in homebrew creations that make it so you can set it to private (creator only), friends (DnDB friends and party members) and published (the entire DnDB community). Something like this is mostly a quality of life upgrade but should be a fairly simple upgrade and would be appreciated by many many dms out there. dont know where else to post this so lmk if i need to move it but i wanted to say something
If you select "Remove From Your Collection", you will still have it in "My Homebrew Creations", but it won't viewable by anyone other than you, and can't be added to anyone's sheet either.

Which generates a problem if you made homebrew items ahead of time that you want to give to players that you want to keep secret, but can then not give to then because it's not in your collection.

Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.

At this point you add the item back to your collection. Unfortunately it can't be both hidden and available to give.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
