While I welcome new content, it seems that the recent flood of articles is far more than necessary to sustain or develop interest and is unlikely to be sustainable for very long.
I am a little concerned, I used to keep up pretty well with it I thought, but now I've given up. I catch what is most insteresting to me, and that's it. But I also understand I'm probably not in the majority.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
The most memorable stories always begin with failure.
How do you people find time to actually play if 10 minutes to read an article is cutting so deep into your free time?
The articles are (mostly) designed to save the reader time.
Edit - I note the OP is averaging about 3 forum posts a day since he joined DNDBeyond! :) That's double me, and I spend way too much time here! (I can get testimonials to back up this claim regarding my contributions! :) )
Edit - my maths was fine, but American Calendar system threw me. Halve my estimate of his Forum usage. Still quite a lot though. Not a complaint, BTW, 100PCT - you keep those posts coming my friend.
I read barely any of them but stepping back a minute and looking at the big picture, no, I don't think there are too many. I read the ones I'm interested in and go back to the old ones from time to time. DDB is meant to be a destination for D&D on the web so I think they need a variety of kinds of articles for different interests. And hiring a Todd Kenreck... I don't think the plan was one article a week :) Anyway, can you really get too much of Todd's voice?
What I would like... many of the interviews would work just as well in podcast format and as I'm on the road a lot, where I tend to listen, I'd probably get to listen to more that way.
I'm looking forward to the content getting better organized, as I think over time there will be some great articles compiled over various subjects for people (particularity beginners) to get to read through.
They have brought a team of talented individuals to cover content, and to be honest, there is A LOT of content that could be covered in the world of DnD. Some of it will definitely get more traction than others but that is part of how it works.
I think it is also important to note that the group creating this content is entirely separate from the team developing the app and website. We are all excited about the fabled and teased new character sheet, but I'm enjoying the articles in the interim.

What do you think?

Roleplaying since Runequest.
My only thought is that it would be nice if a few more of the articles were actually about the development progress and ideas for the digital content.
It's odd how rare developer progress information seems to be.
