I've been thinking about how my group will utilize D&D Beyond.
Without having heard too much about what the Campaign manager would entail, I'd like to suggest a few things.
I am making one assumption, and it might be a big one. I'm assuming that you will be able to invite others to your campaign area, so that players can have their notes section, and maybe the DM has access to their character sheets.
1. Hotlink Abilitiy. Similar to how wowhead works, by typing something a certain way in my notes I'd like to be able to see a popup of that item <<magic missile>> for example would show a popup of the magic missile spell. Hover = popup, click takes you to the pertinent Beyond entry. 2. PC Campaign Notes A page/section where the players can add their notes on the campaign, keep track of people they've met, things they've done, clues they've found.. etc... maybe also keep track of days / time passing there as well. 3. Random creation tools -- all of them :) But mostly names / NPC's -- ability to make a specific type of NPC on the fly (i.e. they decide to get involved with an NPC I didn't have a plan for, and I can select 'bartender' or 'guard' or something similar and get some NPC stats. 4. Ability to print character sheets. My group is mostly pen / paper. The ability to update and reprint a sheet would be amazing. The option to also print a 3x5 card style summary with important info for the DM (AC, HP, PP, Saves, Darkvision, etc..) ---maybe even format into teepee style? I fold a 3x5 in half and 1/2 has character name for the players and 1/2 has the important stats for me. This gets placed along the top of the DM screen in initiative order. Let's them keep in mind who is up next, and keeps good info someplace where i can see it easily. 5. IF we can build maps, the ability to export in a format that can be brought into other programs (other platforms like Roll20, or Gimp, etc...)
I think that is all for now.. really looking forward to the next phases of this!
