Reddit is full of conflicting info. The vocal segment there is fleeing this platform immediately and advocating it for other. People also credibly claim they are using this as the opportunity to flee to non D&D systems.
If I bought a bunch of class/creature books this year, will I be able to use them in the encounter builder or is that money flushed down the drain?
Existing Character Sheets will/will not be affected?
If you add a spell to the new character on level up 2014 spells will/will not be available?
Is Campaign sharing dead?
Our use case is we are super busy in life and beyond allows us to use cool features from all the peripheral books like fizbans without memorizing all the books . The encounter builder really helps with out online offline hybrid and we share the content that I buy using the campaign manager.
Monsters should be fine as they will just have the legacy tag. The exception is going to be familiars and wild shapes which will reflect 2024. Which looks like it could be an issue.

Point 1: classes are fine. There is some complicated interactions, if you chose a 2024 class version you can only use the updated 2024 subclass along with a non updated subclass, but updated 2014 subclass options won't be available to you within the character builder.
Presumably the encounter builder will be unaffected as monsters will gain the legacy tag. Of course probably going to have to wait for the monster manual release for an official statement.
Point 2: Existing Character sheets will be impacted. Spells, equipment, and tooltips will reflect the 2024 rules. If you remove feeblemind you will not be able to readd it. You'll have to use the new spell. Everything else should remain the same.
Point 3: The character sheet will not at any point reflect the 2014 version of a spell. The only option whether you level up or not is the 2024 version.
Point 4: there have been no announcements about the sharing of resources. Presumably that remains unchanged.

Trolls will be trolls. Best way to combat disinformation is to do research yourself and look at the primary source (read the changelog and clarification), and if that is too difficult, ask a trusted community member or a mod to explain it to you. Keep in mind they are not infallible either, as not even mods are kept updated on the changes until the very last minute, and they are just as surprised as we are.

Classes and mosters are mostly fine, as they will be Legacy content. From what I understand, I think the main issue is where links are involved, as the links might point to the new versions instead.
Existing Character Sheets will/will not be affected?
Character sheets will be partially affected, as certain spells and magic items are being replaced, and as mentioned above, links might be affected too. The rest of the character sheet should remain unaffected.
If you add a spell to the new character on level up 2014 spells will/will not be available?
Certain 2014 spells and magic items will be replaced by the new version, i.e. old content will be deleted. You can still read about the old content in the compendium, but they will no longer be in available in the character builder and character sheets.

1) As stated above you can use the classes/subclasses/backgrounds/races as they will preserved with a legacy tag. You will have to use the new spells, however if you own the old versions you get new versions for free. There will be no official way to use the old spells.
Monsters can still be used as they will be preserved under a legacy tag. Any spellcasting monsters however will be changed over to the new spells.
2) Character sheets will be changed to use the new rules & tooltips, eg Hide & Exhaustion will reference the new rules. There is no way to change this, and applies to existing sheet as well.
Existing characters will be switched to use the new spells (and when the DMG is released the new items too). There is no official way to change this.
3) Correct. Unless you're comfortable make workarounds with the homebrew tools you cannot use the 2014 spells anywhere in the character builder. Even with homebrew there are some situations where it will be impossible to use the 2014 spells.
So for me bought 5 books this year, so seems these will go obsolete...(bought the online versions so I could use the tools, since I already have the hardcopy of them). Guess at least refund would be nice...
To answer your questions, no you cannot choose between 2014 and 2024. If there is a 2024 version, only that one will be visible on your character. Meaning the character sheet is messed up after the forced upgrade!
I am trying to go into old characters I have created and they have been changed. I can't make a new character for an existing game that is only using the 2014 rues. Thi sis disappointing DnDBeyond (to say the least). I am now actively looking for another platform to run my sheets and campaigns through (which is a shame as a few weeks ago, I had no problems with DnDBeyond). It feels like we are being forced into using a product without a choice. I feel like there is no other option that to cancel paid subscriptions.
I'm aware some of this was from before the announcement changed, but...
1. Feeblemind can still be used on sheets, including on brand-new characters, as long as they're a 2014 class that can use it.
2. Familiars can still be added from the 2014 versions as well.
3. Existing characters' options haven't changed. While there's a few hitches with the new release (such as the Monk's Martial Arts die) the features are the same.

You can still make 2014 characters just fine. Beyond listened to feedback, and decided to let us use 2014 content as was before. Just keep in mind there are lots of bugs and issues going on right now. If you are having issues, what exactly are you having issues with? I have not seen any problems with the old content outside of the usual bugs and limitations.
And as I mentioned in my previous post, please do research, rely on the primary sources, and be updated on news. My previous post has outdated information. Information can quickly get outdated, and while Beyond/Wizards/Hasbro can certainly do a better job of communicating, we as consumers and as a D&D community also need to be better at reading information and dispelling rumors and misinformation.
