We currently use Roll20 for maps. I was playing around with the Beyond Maps Alpha last night and... Honestly? I'm impressed. Having instant access to tokens for all the monsters in my source books is a huge win.
The thing that's stopping me is that there's no integration with encounters. It's going to be difficult to track the monsters on the map with the monsters in the encounter without this.
In my current system, I add the monster letter to one of the status circles in Roll20. So Kobold A gets the letter "A" added in the red circle. That tells me it's Kobold A in the Beyond Encounter tracker. There's no easy way for me to do that in the maps.
If the two systems were integrated together, I'd exclusively use Beyond.
So that leads to my question. Is this integration on the development roadmap? If so, where is it on the priority list?

You can rename any token by clicking it and selecting the rename feature from the token toolbar
Currently the encounter builder/combat tracker is integrated into maps via the game log where all rolls are displayed. There's no further integration on the roadmap, but that isn't to say it's not coming, just that it's not listed.

Ahhhh... Didn't see that. Thanks!
So monster rolls appear in the open to the players?

Only if you set them to be, otherwise they're visible to the DM only
The thing is you have to do twice the work. you have to populate the monsters in the ENCOUNTERS and then you have to populate them in MAPS. When I first got my Master subscription I did it thinking that is what would happen. Create Campaign, Create Encounter, Create Map and gthey show they are linked. But there is no functionality beween the three. I spent about 2 weeks discovering this as there are NO tutorials and just a lot of OLD YOUTUBE videos.

Is there any hope for the future?
Maps has its own encounter tracking now. It is separate from the Encounters tool, but it is there. (It's not mentioned in this thread because it is a relatively recent development and this thread is a year old.)
I have used the map encounter tracker but it really has no information I dont see it giving any stat information on the MOBs. just initative. Is that all it is suppose to do. It would be nice if the encounter tracker on the map gave stats.
so as far as a campaign is concerrend you dont use encounters,
My biggest gripe right now is that the 2024 CR calculations are only available in the Maps encounter manager, which is to me a missed opportunity... sends a lazy developpement choice message...
