Can we please get some sort of code-based homebrew system? Maybe just write them up in JSON? The current UI is incredibly tedious for even the simplest task.
Here's a challenge for you to try out: make a variant Dragonborn, where the only change is that you increase the damage of the breath weapon by 1d6 at each step. Let me know how long that takes you.
Even if you use a whole copy of the existing Dragonborn (which isn't an option when making a Variant, by the way), by my estimates, you will have to click at least 200 times. You will also have to put in at least 10 descriptions that the base race doesn't have, because there is no concept of inheritance. You will also have to edit what is essentially the same line of text at least 20 times, because it is hand written, and not generated by the selected options.
This is not only tedious, but very error prone. It's incredibly easy to miss a field, or click the wrong section.
At this point, I'm not even going to make this variant, because it will be too much of a PITA. I'll just have my player remember the bonus d6.
