So, I spent the morning reading through the new Monster Manual and I gotta say overall I really like it. The team did a great job expanding on the monster catalog, giving us tougher versions of various critters, for example. The expanded writeups (like in the dragon per-age descriptions) were very welcome.
My one criticism, though, is that by not collecting critter writeups by group, I think we lost some basic information. What comes to mind is the difference between the various fiends: demon, devil, and yugoloth (honestly, I have no idea of what a yugoloth even is!). Perhaps I missed these descriptions somewhere else. The DMG perhaps?
