Heya! I'm DMing a campaign of the new Crooked Moon campaign, and one of the players picked the Sinner class from the player book. As we were leveling up and unlocking the subclass, we ran into a small issue: The Jinx Weapon you get at level 3.
It does say it gives the option of being either a weapon you're proficient at or a gaming set, but it doesn't seem to be giving the option to select between the two, and defaults to giving a unique ranged attack option under the guise of the Gaming Set. This also has the issue of not benefitting from the Proficiency Bonus given it being a unique option. For the meantime we're getting around this by simply providing an attack modifier bonus that we will be updating over as the game progresses, but if there's any way to edit this on the back end to allow for the choice and the Gaming Set option to benefit from Proficiency Bonus, that would be much appreciated!
There is a sinner subclass to rouge if you own the Crooked Moon material on D&D Beyond. Considering the general support for all the 2024 changes aren't 100% there, it doesn't surprise me 3rd party material isn't correct either. Your player will probably just have to make a note and manually track it. Unfortunate but is the nature of DDB right now.
