I use D&D Beyond as a place to store any monsters I don't own in a book. This would be useful, except that the Create Monster feature is incredibly annoying. First, if I don't toggle on the monster being Legendary, Mythic, or having a Lair, but I leave the template that Create From Scratch puts in there, the monster is Legendary, Mythic, and has a Lair. I don't understand why these toggles are here if they don't do anything, or why the template carries over when the toggle is off. If one thing here could be changed, I would hope this is the one to be fixed. Another thing is that you can't put in custom Sub-types, Saving Throws, Damage Adjustments, Condition Immunities, Habitats, Skills, Senses, or Ability Scores. You are limited to things on official D&D monsters. For characters, you can add custom skills. The 2014 Dungeon Master's Guide has optional rules for Honor and Sanity. Why can't we add these to homebrew monsters? Next, why are Languages, Senses, Skills, and Movement only unlocked after you have added everything else? You need to add almost everything important to your monster, then you can add, what, 4 more things? There's even a way to add Languages in the Basic Information section, which is way more versatile. The fact that to add something to these, you have to go to a separate URL and wait for it to load there and then load back makes the process much more tedious. And why can't we add multiple of these at a time? Why can't we re-order them once we have added them? If you accidentally add a fly speed before a walk speed, the walk speed says "walk" and comes second. Why doesn't walk default to being first. In the movement section, you choose the type of movement, add a speed, and then you can add notes. For senses, you have to say "60 ft." in the notes section. It's a small thing, but writing " ft." after every number for a sense gets a little annoying. Don't get me wrong, I do like that we can create homebrew monsters. I just wish that they were a little easier to use.
Having worked with it for a good while now, I'm actually quite satisfied with it, especially with the automation able to automatically read across to VTTs with Beyond20.
However, I can't give it a full 5 because you're right about the Legendary, Mythic, and Lair stuff. Once a block has those, they're stuck on there. So I can give it a 4 (because it functions well when you start without those things).

It is incredibly annoying. Fully agree.
1 means that you are unhappy.
