I've been using the Maps VTT pretty regularly, and I've run into a few usability quirks that, if fixed, I feel could really improve the platform. Wondering if others have experienced these or have thoughts:
Can't re-add creatures to initiative Once you add a creature to the initiative tracker and then remove it, it doesn't allow you to add it back without resetting initiative entirely or adding a new copy of the token to the tracker. Would be nice to just be able to drop them back in if removed accidentally, or if combat changes. Having to hide them from players isn't always appropriate either. Also being able to edit a creature's initiative would be so helpful since there are features that allow this mechanically.
Token selector lacks source category filter On the main D&D Beyond site, you can filter monsters/creatures by source category (like Core Rules, Expanded Rules, etc.), but that filter isn't available in the VTT token selector. So each time, I have to manually select all the filters that apply to the setting or rules I'm using. Adding this filter would really save time during prep and mid-session.
Drawing tool + spacebar erases last drawn object I've mentioned this before but haven't seen any update. When using the drawing tool and then pressing spacebar to pan the map, it erases the last part of whatever you just drew, which is especially frustrating when placing simple dots or small marks. Feels like a bug, not a feature, so I thought I'd mention it again.
Big wish (maybe more long-term): An undo button. Accidentally moving or deleting things you've spent time setting up really stings when you have to redo everything from scratch. I imagine that's a bigger technical ask, but it would be a quality-of-life game-changer.
Anyone else run into these? Would love to hear if there are workarounds or if the devs have mentioned any of these.
