I've been running a 5e campaign using D&D Beyond for characters for the past year and am about to start a second campaign. I'd love to use this as my single tool to manage my entire campaign, especially since I'll be running 2 at the same time, so here are some nice-to-haves as I'm thinking about how D&D Beyond can help improve my DM experience:
NPC Area - As a DM I should be able to create and manage private NPCs with descriptions, notes, items, etc that are associated with one or more campaigns. This will allow me to easily pull up notes on who the players are interacting with, notes on what has happened thus far, easily have a merchant with their inventory, etc.
Campaign View for Combat - As a DM I should be able to see an overview of all the players in my campaign with a summary of their combat information. Meaning, I should see a page with all attacks and relevant stats, a page with all spells and relevant stats, a page with all equipment, and a page with AC/saving throws/HP, etc. This will allow me to better manage combat and better help new players with what they should be doing. This also helps put less focus on game mechanics and allows me as the DM to story better.
Monster View for a Campaign - As a DM I should be able to associate a variety of monsters for quick reference with one or more campaigns. This will allow me to know what encounters I'm preparing for.
Treasure View for a Campaign - As a DM I should be able to create multiple treasure hoards associated with one or more campaigns. This will allow me to easily provide my players with sweet loot, and easily move the items/money directly to the players who found the treasure.
These are just a few of my thoughts for improvement. I'd love some feedback on if any of these are possible, or if anyone has a better way to do what I'm looking to do.
NOTE: If these need to be broken out into separate threads or posted elsewhere for voting purposes, please let me know.
They don't make "release dates" for features. They release them when they are ready. You can view the Trello board to see what is currently in development vs what is planned short term vs long term.
