Weighing in on this, I've been dabbling with deep learning to auto-balance combat encounters for large parties, having access to the API so I can data-mine it for monster data would be amazing :) Would be more than happy to have it with with a user-specific authorization key of course.
I'm interested in hearing about this now that the phase 2 and 3 content is out. I built a combat tracker called Improved Initiative, and I'd like to use official monster listings from D&D Beyond if they make those available- then I'd probably be able to provide access to statblocks that are outside the Basic Rules.
Are there any news about this? This would be a great feature for those who would like to develop some tools by themselves. If the community can offer tools that make use of the DDB Sevices, it might even help to increase the number of subscribers.
As another feature request, I would be happy to be able to export/import my homebrew stuff in something like JSON. The process of creating/editing a custom background is a bit tedious, it's like a coding using a drag-and-drop menus instead of a keyboard.
I have a bunch of ideas for simple analytics tools that I would like to build for myself, both as a player and a DM. Hoping the API get some prioritization soon
Is there an API I can use to pull this information for apps that I have or to integrate with bots?
They plan to have an API: https://twitter.com/DnDBeyond/status/841117921397100544
I look forward to using it to make some DM tools.
Oh that is awesome! Definitely excited to build some tools to integrate :D
Yeah I really want access to an API, that i could utilise for all sorts.

Is there a recent staff response to whether there will be an API?
An API would be sweet. Building something that can sync with other tools would be amazing and remove yet another set of redundancy in some cases.

I'd be very excited to build out some tools with a D&D 5E API. Looking forward to this announcement.
