I've read a few threads, but I can't find any that explicitly suggest this.
It'd be nice to have an option to change the currency to be location specific. For example, a GP is a Dragon in Waterdeep. While I know the general exchange rate is up to the DM on those matters, it can get confusing when you're accustomed to traditional currency terms (i.e copper, silver, gold) and suddenly you're being asked for nibs, shards or dragons.
The immersion is broken when you have to effectively translate the local jargon to satisfy your native understanding of currency. It's very akin to learning a new language. You know the terms, but you have to think about their meaning. The flow of the game can get very bogged down in such conversations, and would be easier to maintain if say the "Gold" label could be swapped to "Dragons" by simply telling the character sheet that you're in Waterdeep.
It's just a feature I'd like to see, but I understand it may not be high on most priority lists.
Great suggestion! I can definitely see this as a frustration point when playing through adventures using different currency models. Having the ability to modify which model appears on the character sheet would surely make things easier on the players.

Thank you for this feedback!
It gets even worse with ravnica currency, which has different coins with different exchange rates.
