I'd really like to see the weapon and armor equipping functionality be more than just a "shows up on your actions panel" kind of deal.
For example, I've personally run into an issue with the Fighter fighting style Dueling.
"When you are wielding a melee weapon in one hand and no other weapons, you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with that weapon."
Let me use a hypothetical. I have a Fighter at level one with a long sword, a shield and two hand axes. I equip the longsword and the shield as this is what she typically fights with. You can see she gets the +2 damage bonus on the longsword because of the Dueling fighting style.
However she finds herself in a situation where she accidentally drops her longsword and shield in the heat of the moment after rolling a natural one, and decides to fight with dual hand axes. I unequip the longsword and shield, and equip the dual handaxes, marking one as a dual wielded weapon.
As you can see, the +2 damage bonus from the fighting style Dueling is still showing even though she should no longer be receiving the bonus due to having a weapon in her offhand.
I have opened up a feature request for this to be potentially actioned, but I'd love to hear feedback from the community about this.
