When using Starting Equipment, I often do not need every choice. For the remaining choices choices, I would just pick the most expensive option - to sell it later.
A example:
* I am making a DEX Fighter
* At the armor, I pick "leather armor, longbow, 20 arrows"
* later the choice is between "2 throwing axes" and "a crossbow with 20 bolts"
Both choices are inferior to the longbow I already got. The best choice is to sell it whatever I pick. And the best choice for that is the crossbow.
But not every choice is just 2 options. Some superfluous options are "any simple or martial weapon".
Especially for Adventurers League League the options explicitly allow selling and buying starting gear before starting play:
"Equipment. Your character can sell starting equipment using the rules in the Player’s Handbook and can buy equipment and spell components found in the Player’s Handbook or any other resource listed above. Selling starting equipment provided by your class and background doesn’t count toward your Gold Piece Limit."
So a option for the most expensive - with lowest weight as tie breaker - would be nice. Maybe even make it just picking the sellprice of the most expensive directly as a option.
