As D&D expands I've noticed a growing amount of guns and explosives, and of mechanicals like the warforged and their related equipment coming in with new books. To keep the classic high fantasy players wanting to buy those books, there's also content they'll be excited about. This is great. More options is good.
The problem comes with the Character Builder filter being only by the sources.
My campaign is in a world which doesn't have those things. It's classic high fantasy. I don't want me or my players being presented with an "antimatter rifle" of all things every time they go to change their equipment. It breaks the mood of the story and weakens the worldbuilding we've been doing together. But I also don't want to restrict them away from the cool new content that does fit our world.
Please
Add tags to items (e.g. "Firearms", "Warforged")
Add Tags as an additional restriction option for the Character Sheet (and the Character Builder if it comes up in there, but I think it currently doesn't?) "Tags Restrict equipment with these tags from being displayed in "Add Equipment" lists for this character. Include tags in the box below to restrict them."
it'd be swell if this was part of Campaign management in future, but that will require some thinking about how to gracefully replace the current method, which is DM says to player, "Ok, on the second page when you're making your character please turn toggle X and Y to off, change advancement to XP, do include coin weight, uh... I think that's it? Oh wait, and set HP to Manual and you probably want to make your character sheet Private if you don't want the other players to see your backstory and notes..." That's a whole ball of wax, so for now, just an enhancement to restrict by tag in Add Equipment would be a big help.
This is an idea to add to the upcoming Content management update.
I can see its usefulness a little, but not really see a point. How is players seeing the antimatter rifle the DM didn't give them any different from seeing an armor of gleaming the DM didn't give them?

Thanks!
