So, when choosing "Gold" on the equipment tab during character creation, why can we not go into shopping mode?
I constantly find myself opening a calculator app and tracking coins spent... Occasionally flipping to the gold tab on my character and entering the gold I have spent, seeing what I have left.
Why can't I just enter" equipment shopping mode" and buy my equipment from my available gold?
Is there anyone that thinks this wouldn't be a great feature???

40+ year D&D Veteran, Roleplaying and Character Dev. are my jam, but I equally enjoy all pillars of play.
A lot of people have asked for a "buy" button to automatically remove the cost of the item from their inventory.
I dont see much of a point, as I have spent the actual cost of an item to buy it less than half of the time, and I like choosing what kind of coins I pay with. Maybe that's just my group treating d&d like some sort of RP instead of a video game.
My request is specifically for character creation and starting equipment. I've been playing D&D since 1980 and character creation, since first edition D&D has always ended with roll your starting gold and buy equipment. D&D Beyond has used 5e's simplified starting equipment mechanic to deprive players of a key way to differentiate one starting character from all the others by making it the most complicated step.
Oh, and keep your snark to yourself, it wasn't necessary, and we don't care.

I'm inclined to agree with DxJxC that this is a process better handled through RP than application functions. Once you introduce a 'shopping mode', you've made a feature that's only of benefit to people who use the PHB prices and nothing else. That's not really a great RoI for development time to be honest, and is a little video gamey. Because what you're really asking for is a calculator feature to add up the prices of everything you're 'buying'.
