Besides spurring interest in creators, a rating system can allow a simple form of feedback. When searching for custom items and monsters, a user could filter for only 3* and up, for example. This might also streamline getting rid of 'bad' content.
It wouldn't be bad to create a marketplace...You would have a LOT of small transactions on which a commission would be earned, but no additional resources required. Compare selling 100k adventures at $20, and the cost it creates to make them...to selling 25k random custom creations * 100's of creators.
