I have a Life Cleric in my party who has the following feature from his class:
Blessed Healer(PHB, pg. 60) When you cast a spell of 1st level or higher that restores HP to a creature other than you, you regain HP equal to 2 + the spell’s level.
While alot is automatically added or calculated by Dndbeyond, this isn't added to the "spells" section, causing some confusion. Is this an oversight in design or a bug?
Disciple of Life (PHB, pg. 60) “Also starting at 1st level, your healing spells are more effective. Whenever you use a spell of 1st level or higher to restore hit points to a creature, the creature regains additional hit points equal to 2 + the spell’s level.”
But the same question arrises. The spell suggest it’s basic calculation, and does not add the class abilities to actual values,
For Disciple of Life, see this thread. According to one of the dev updates in October it was 'prioritized,' but it's March, so I assume that really means something like 'we're trying to make sure that will be addressed in one of the larger revamps of N system.'
As for blessed healer, there is nothing on any character sheet that adjusts HP. The sheet doesn't know who you're casting a spell on, it can't differentiate between you casting the spell on yourself versus someone else, so that's another reason it's not capable of making changes. My suggestion here would be to add a note to the note field of the spell. That'll show up in the spell list and remind the player to adjust their HP after they finish casting the spell.
Hi!

Actually we discussed this one:

Basically the way spell information is sorted and presented makes it very difficult to make modifiers for them.
It will require one of the major revamps to have all the values of all spells tagged in a way that they can be modified.
Guess I’ll have to stay awake on our next sessions 🤣
Thanks for clarifying it.
