First of all, I have to say that DnDBeyond is already an impressively powerful tool for character management. Kudos to the Curse Team for all your hard work, it is really appreciated.
Secondly, and to the point of this post, as it stands right now DnDB does rely quite a bit on the player knowing what to do and when. For example, the current system for leveling up ("Manage Levels") is a bit daunting for those who don't know how to work with it, and in an on going campaign where new levels only come around every few months, it may take a bit of relearning every time your character advances. Also the Manage Levels feature doesn't really make clear what is directly "new" for advancing a level, and its often needed to reference the actual class documents to make sure every last new decision (such as new spells or feats) is made.
The feature I would like to suggest is an additional option on the menu called a "Level up wizard" or something along those lines. When selecting it, it will present a player with a listing of what the character gains from advancing one more level in its current character class.
Congratulations, you have gained level X! You gain:
1dX more hitpoints (or Fixed value)
1 new X Level Spell
1 new feat
With each of those bullet points either linking out to where those options are selected (acting as a checklist of sorts) or allowing the selection right there in the wizard. You would still have Manage Levels for those of us that know our way around the system, but also this as a quick tool for those that just want to get their character leveled and get back to the game.
At any rate, just a suggestion for you guys to use or ignore as you wish. Either way, thanks again for all your hard work!
