TL;DR - I decided to create some actual item cards for my DnD players, in a trading card style.
I've recently started running a 5th edition game for friends and have been running through the LMoP module, as many do and the party recovered the longsword "Talon" (due to someone accidentally falling off a bridge, go figure).
Even though I have been running DnD games for 30 years, it felt underwhelming just having the player write "+1 longsword" on his character sheet.
I blame the many video games and board games I have played, where you get to see so much more, so .... borrowing from board games I have played, I decided to create some item cards for my DnD game, in a trading card style, which I am having colour printed on some card.
I thought I would share them on here to see if there is any interest in me tidying up and releasing the templates (they're designed in Photoshop)?
Note: I made some minor changes to a couple of the items from the text in LMoP.
Edit: here's the templates for anyone who would like to use these to make their own.

Yeah, I looked at those and decided I would like to brush up on my Photoshop skills, so here was a good little project to do that!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that "+1 Longsword" sounded lame. These cards are rad as hell, amazing work!
Can I roll for that?

Update - I've added the Photoshop templates to the original post.

Really cool! I've done something similar, but my design isn't nearly as nice as yours. :-)

I would like to purchase cards like those for our adventures. It would be a nice way to either customize treasure or to randomize it...
Those are amazing! I am absolutely making some this weekend. Thanks for the templates. You don't happen to have the fonts too do you?
