Title of this post really. My artificer has infused a light crossbow with the radiant weapon infusion. Her DEX mod (+2), prof bonus (+3), and the +1 from the infusion should leave her with a +6 to hit and a +3 on damage. However, it is currently at 1 +8 to hit and a +5 to damage. The only explanation of this that I can see is that the infusion is causing the sheet to use her INT modifier for attack and damage rolls.
Is this a bug? It is not how the infusion works RAW. And there is no customization by me or my player to the item.
Without a link to a character sheet we can only guess what's happening.
As for my guess - if you're a Battle Smith Artificer then you absolutely can be using your Intelligence for your attack and damage rolls when using magic weapons.
Battle Ready
3rd-level Battle Smith feature
Your combat training and your experiments with magic have paid off in two ways:
You gain proficiency with martial weapons.
When you attack with a magic weapon, you can use your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity modifier, for the attack and damage rolls.
