Hi, i recently started using dnd beyond and decided to pay for the Drow race and Abberant Mind subclass for sorcerer for the campaign i joined. I can't access the spells i am supposed to have for the subclass. Does this mean i have to pay an extra $2 x 11 spells to use them?
The spells are sold separately, yes. You can purchase them as a bundle (per book), though -- $5 for all the spells in the PHB. Trying to sell spell-only bundles and sell 'everything you need for subclass X' bundles while trying to honor their 'what you pay counts towards the cost of the whole book' premise is pretty much impossible. There's so much overlap between subclasses, even, that if you buy subclass X and subclass Y, and they have 3 overlapping spells, how does that affect the cost of the spell bundle, and the book as a whole? Especially if subclass X is a cleric, who gets access to all of the spells a cleric can cast. What if it's an Arcana cleric, who can pick any 6th-9th level wizard spell to add to their prepared spells? There's no way to do that fairly. So the subclass and the spells are separate.
The drow's racial spells are all available as part of the basic rules, so those are free (because WotC released them for free). For Aberrant Mind, the spells are a combination of Basic Rules (free), PHB ($5 for all the spells in the book) and new ones from Tasha's ($6 for less spells, which sucks a little - but you only need two of the spells, so you could purchase just those two for $4). Also, keep in mind whether or not you're intending to use the optional class features rules from Tasha's. That requires buying the whole book (sucks more) but that would mean you've got the spells.
Thanks. Well i spent the $11. But it would be nice for me being in Africa if the dndbeyond app in the app store had the option to buy individual items like on the site. Then i could pay a more reasonable price. The website prices are geared towards America.
100% agree. The app allows purchases using our local currencies. but it doesn't give the breakdowns. I made my first purchase last night in dollar, but it really would be a big help to non-US players.

What about the racial spells the drow gets?
I'm starting to feel a bit tricked.
