I'm new to the D&D Beyond character creation. And I was making a character. Got to the inventory bought some stuff then went to sort it and noticed somethings that struck me as odd
1) Containers have no price. The price is in the description but not on the list.
2)No sum total for gold on each container or the whole inventory on the list.
3) As the title Containers cannot hold Containers. What I mean is I can't take a sack and place it into a backpack or Saddlebags or on a mount. So I need to weight and add each bag my horse is carrying manually, not on site, to get his encumbrance weight.
4) Can the inventory subtract from the gp or do I need to do that manually too? I have been looking but having problems 😕 also noticed I had to add background inventory and gold by hand as well.
4) You should be able to add background equipment & gold at the Equipment page of the Character Builder, but if you're using a Custom Background, that could be the reason why you don't have any. I suggest you use the regular background you want the equipment/gold from, Add Starting Equipment, and then go back and change to your Custom Background.
You adjust your coins manually while in the Inventory section of the character sheet. It doesn't subtract coins automatically for you when you add items. The Builder doesn't "know" when you're buying from a shop, and certainly wouldn't know if you got stuff at a discount or as a gift...
3) Containers can't be stored in containers. If you have Sacks with stuff in them, add them as separate containers in your inventory; if you have empty sacks, you could add a close-enough stackable item that isn't itself a Container and then Customize it to override the weight & cost and call it "Sack (empty)". (I used a jug or pitcher myself.)
2) There's a beta for coins in Containers. I'm not sure if everyone has access to it but it'd be from the little Settings gear after you click on your Coins from Inventory.
1) Containers have prices. They just don't show in the main Inventory section.
The Containers feature rollout is still ongoing so some functionality hasn't been added yet.
