My subscription plan is active but my characters are locked. This of course means that I cannot use the service at all atm. So I feel some urgency with the next game coming up in a few hours.
even more weird (than having billing problems as I suspected), it seems to be that it is aware I have an active subscription the message being:
Your current D&D Beyond Membership is: HERO ( slots). To continue, select up to unlimitedcharacters to activate. Your other characters will be deactivated until you restore them by deleting an active character to free up a slot, or by adding more slots with a D&D Beyond Subscription
Also the account page is aware of the subscription being active. I'd assume if it was a characters app bug everybody would be screaming right now, so I am at a loss.
It was a bug in the character app for some reasons (WTF!?) on billing day having deactivated all characters. Manually activating all 185 characters worked. This is especially confusing as without the bug hitting you you never see any activation/deactivation stuff with a subscription. WTF?!
