I have a Zariel Warlock of the Celestial, in total the character is Fighter 1/Warlock 5.
At 5th level(F1/W4), the character gained Branding Smite 1/day from heritage, they also have Burning Smite 1/day from heritage. These two can also be cast with a pact slot if necessary, but the 1/day should be cast at the spell's base level: 2 for Branding and 1 for Burning.
I noticed that the Smites are listed in the character sheet/spells as if they were cast with a 2nd level spell(pact) slot, which cranks the damage on the Burning Smite up to 2d6 fire. The 1/day use should only grant 1d6 fire extra.
The Zariel Tielfing casts the 1/day searing smite at 2nd-level:
When you reach 3rd level, you can cast the searing smite spell as a 2nd-level spell once with this trait and regain the ability to do so when you finish a long rest.

*facepalm* D'oh! That happens if you only skim rules because you've seen the same verbiage a hundred times... *blush*
