It happens with any character I open in DND Beyond. For example, if i go to the 'spells' window under 'actions' - if i click on any spell requiring a roll, in this case 'inflict wounds' instead of rolling the dice, it pops open a sidebar window for my character and an error window pops up saying 'Not recognizing the currently open sidebar".
Same thing happening for me. I'd attach a screenshot, but I don't see the option. It seems to only affect trying to roll spells, and not other saving throws, initiative, etc. Cheers & appreciate the support!
My partner and I are experiencing the same issue, spells aren't rolling, whether it's the whole spell, the attack or simply the damage, and a message of error is popping each time. Weapon attacks are working tho.
I've tried to replicate this on my own, and while I don't get the error you seem to be getting, my dice indeed don't roll when I click "Cast". I've escalated this to the team, and will let you know when I get an update!

For cantrips, I clicking on the Spell Attack or Damage rolls doesn't result in dice being rolled. For leveled spells, clicking on Spell Attack or Damage rolls results in the error message: "Not recognizing the currently open sidebar."
Update: first, let me apologize for misunderstanding the full issue you were having, which caused the delay in getting back to you. after attempting to get this error on our end, we realized that this is an issue with the Beyond20 extension. I would recommend disabling it until they can fix it, but there's nothing on D&D Beyond's side that we can do to solve this.

Pinging this post as well - currently having the same problem with about half of my players in a campaign and they arent really able to roll anything. Without the extension, dndbeyond loses a lot of its value of use.
Last night and today, while playing, I was unable to use spells for any of my characters. According to reedit, other users are having the same issue.
The error message is "Not recognizing the currently open sidebar"
Please advise.
Can you walk me through the steps you took to get that error? That will help me describe the issue to the team if I can replicate it.

I am also running into this issue. When you select the "cast" option from spells the error pops in DnD beyond.

Any word on this? Having a hard time getting a new campaign started without this fix.

How does one go about disabling the Beyond20 extension?
Go to extensions in your browser and disable it.
