I’ve been trying to add Witch Bolt to a level 3 sorcerer and it’s just not appearing in the list of spells. I have the PHB (2014) version and it used to show up. I can still see it in regular dndb search results but not in the character editor or sheet.
interestingly, I have an older character from before the D&D 2024 launch that has that spell in their spell book but if I remove it, I cannot re-add it.
Any idea what’s going on? Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
Is your new Sorcerer being made with the 2024 version? If so, do you own the new PHB? Witch bolt isn't in the free rules, and 24 classes can't use the old versions of anything that's been updated.
It was made with legacy yeah but what’s the best way to double check this? I don’t feel like the dndbeyond sheets actually respect legacy vs 2024 rules all the time.

Is the Legacy toggle on in the character sheets?

The character preferences screen has the Legacy toggle on but I don’t see any legacy spells in the spell selection so something is buggy
You're making a 2024 character. Scroll down further for legacy classes.
The legacy toggle is "legacy or not", not "legacy or 2024"
That was it, thank you!
