When rolling the in-app dice or on-site die rolling, the damage die do not take into account the minimum damage modifier of Great Weapon Fighting Fighting style feat in One D&D.
Per the feat when you roll damage for an attack you make with a melee weapon that you are holding with two hands you can treat any 1 or 2 on a damage die as a 3.
When rolling a one or 2, rather than rounding to three, the die displays and results in damage die (e.g. 1+(str), 2+(str)).
The result should be:
If Great Weapon Fighting = TRUE Dmg= Die Roll + STR WHERE IF ((Die roll = 1 OR 2) THEN Die Roll = 3, else die roll = die roll)
Also if there are 2 die in the die roll (e.g. Greatsword (2d6)) then each die that rolls a two or less should be adjusted to three, per the rule, making a great sword or maul damage - Min 6 + Str.
In a game where we could see minion HP bars, I think you would have a very valid point. However, consistency is less valuable when you can't actually exploit it.
Because you have to take the counterpoint as well. Imagine a monster has 10HP left. GWF does absolutely nothing for you. A fighting style like dueling, however, will not only help with that goblin, but also with the 10 HP enemy https://vlc****/ .
That said, I really do want to repeat your point that D&D is a game of few attacks and meeting thresholds, because it's a point that most people gloss over or forget. It's just that without being able to see the thresholds reliably, it's harder to make use of tools like GWF.
