I noticed that my level 1 druid's (2024 edition) hp was higher than it should have been. It should have been 8 rolled +3 from con for a total of 11. In the rolled box it said 12 instead of 8, so I had 15 hp. I remade a new druid and it was the same thing.
Relevant info: Hit Point type: Manual Class: Druid (2024) Species: High Elf Abilities: 9 str, 15 dex, 15 con (+1 ASI total of 16 con), 12 int, 18 wis (+2 ASI total of 20 wis), 12 cha

Likely you selected "Manual" for the Hit Point Type setting on the Home tab, but you left it at the default value instead of actually rolling the HP and entering the value manually.
It seems like you were expecting it to default to 8, which is what would happen if you set it to "Fixed" instead of "Manual".
First level always gets max hit dice roll, so nothing should have changed.
That is how it's supposed to work according to the rules, but D&D Beyond doesn't really have support for using different methods at different levels, so it treats every level as rolled if you enable the rolled option. You have to actually enter the value instead of leaving it at the default if you want it to match what the rules say.

This happens when you choose "Manual" before selecting a class, so it's unable to determine at that time which size to use.
