This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
When editing the actions, reactions, special abilities and other sections of the custom monsterform, there is a button for the dice roller. When I use it to select the combat bonus and damage dice, it creates code like this:
However, when I save and then view the generated statblock for the custom monster, it just shows the code. There is no dice rolling option, no special formatting.
What am I missing? Hmm, I see that even the forum has a dice-roller icon...okay. So here is what I created using the forum's dice roller:
Those dice rollers are for playing the game (getting dice results), not putting dice in the descriptions to say what needs rolled. For description, just type it out
The same text editor is used across multiple areas of the site, likely as a plugin. There are features beyond the dice roller that don't translate to homebrew content
The dice roller is included as a part of the text editor on D&D Beyond, which is used in various sections. The users above are correct that the dice roller is for use on the forums, usually in the Play By Post games.
I left feedback on the Combat Tracker, but being able to use the dice roller embedded in monsters' action description section would make the Combat Tracker tool so much better.

Well, it works in the forums, but not on the monster statblocks? Bummer.
Yeah, there's no character/monster level dice roller yet

Okay. Strange then that they would include it in the homebrew monster editor.
