On my forest gnome barbarian character, the minor illusion cantrip doesn't show the spell-save DC on this website. My barbarian has it because he's a forest gnome. It should use 8 + INT + proficiency modifier.
It isn't a spell save, it is a skill check. You are right that races don't calculate their spellsaves though, and spells dont have snippets, so it cant be calculated there either.
Oh I thought it should have a spell save, since it describes that creates can try to inspect it with their action:
If a creature uses its action to examine the sound or image, the creature can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the illusion becomes faint to the creature.
Did I misunderstand? Or do you mean the first part of the sentence, that they're making a skill check against it. I don't know what you mean by snippets. Thanks for the response!
EDIT: just found out what snippets are. So where does the spell-save DC usually show then?
EDIT2: just made a quick wood-elf druid to have a look, and the spell-save DC shows nicely at the top of the spells tab. I guess this one is kind of hard to implement in a useful way for a non-casting class then…
My question about my misunderstanding about it being a skill check or a spell save still stands.
Secondly, does the fact that it is currently impossible to implement because spells don't have snippets and spell abilities are not calculated for races mean that this won't be "fixed"?
Right, it is an investigation skill check, not a save. When the character sheets display a save on a spell, they have to say what kind of save, so you cant just display a number.
I can't say whether or not it will get fixed. I don't recall having heard it mentioned by devs or mods (it is kind of a niche problem).
Ah I understand, the "saves" are separate checks, and to figure out if the illusion is real, players or enemies have to make an "investigation check" (not a save) against my "spell save DC" (which is not a save, but rather 8 + spell modifier + proficiency bonus). Right?
Ok I guess we'll see whether it gets implemented in the future. I've added a custom DC override in the customize section. It probably won't be used during play that much anyway, but now at least I know how it works ;-). Thanks!

Seems you answered all your questions. Anything else?
